April 2025
Each year the School District 145 Foundation for Education offers student internships to Waverly High School Juniors and Seniors interested in learning about how the Foundation operates to assist students in School District 145. This internship provides upperclassman an opportunity to make a real difference for students throughout the school district while learning and serving as a member of the Foundation Board. Interns share ideas for improvements, put unique skills to work, and gain new skills and insight. In return for your service to the Board, we will provide support and recommendations as you head off to college, the military, or the work force after graduation. This appointment will begin in the fall of 2025 and end at the completion of your senior year.
A successful applicant must possess desire to learn, great work ethic, and motivation for making a difference in your school, the school district at large, and the extended community. Application requirements are listed on the next page of this invitation.
The application link is above and should be filled out completely. Once submitted, and after the application deadline of Friday, May 2nd, 2025, Foundation President Dr. Amy Schmidt will schedule brief interviews. We look forward to your application!
Note: Parent permission to participate is required. A minimum of 20 hours of your time will be required during the year, as interns are expected to attend Board meetings, as well as their respective committee meetings. General Board meetings typically occur early Saturday mornings, and committee meetings are during the week in the evening. Foundation projects and events you participate in may take additional time.
